Noticeably missing are common resolutions such as 1440x900 (MacBook Pro's 16:10 size), as well as anything above 1920x1080, such as the ever-more-popular 2560x1440 used by nearly 1% of Steam users according to the December 2013 hardware survey. Here at PCGamingWiki, we'll be looking at the quality of the PC port, and see whether the game makes the most of the extra heft provided by the PC platform.
The announcement for the PC port of Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance (originally PS3/Xbox 360 in February 2013) came as quite a surprise, given that the last Metal Gear game to come out on PC was Metal Gear Solid 2 back in 2003, and that all of Platinum's previous games like MadWorld and Bayonetta have all been console exclusive.Īll signs point to this being a questionable PC port, including the strict and ongoing region locking, the temporary case of Ireland being completely banned from buying the game, and the announcement that the maximum resolution would be 1920x1080.

Is there a known fix for this or am I stuck with the stuttering in this game? Full specs are on my profile, but an i5 4670k and an R9 290 should definitely be enough to play this game smoothly. Is this an issue with AMD GPUs (it is an "the way it's meant to be played" title after all) or is there something else going on? My R9 290 performs really well in all other games so I doubt that there is an issue with the card. I have already tried switching to high performance mode in windows so my CPU stays at 4.4 GHz all the time, but the GPU usage is just all over the place. Dropping most graphics settings doesn't do anything, only the 2 options related to the number of cut up pieces on the screen seem to affect the stuttering.

So, the game runs at a steady 60fps all maxed out (and it obviously should since it doesn't look that impressive), but as soon as I slice up people or they explode I have drops down to 40 or even 25 FPS.
